Christopher J. Cox, Esq., FCIArb
Admitted to the California State Bar in 1990, I witnessed the rise and evolution of Silicon Valley's tech industry firsthand. My career has focused on resolving complex disputes involving patents, trade secrets, and commercial matters across a broad spectrum of technologies and forums.
My experience spans complex litigation, jury trials, and appeals in state and federal courts nationwide, as well as various arbitral settings. I've represented both domestic and international clients across diverse industries and regions, earning recognition from Legal 500 for thought leadership on trade secret issues and developing expertise in technology disputes, litigation strategy, crisis management, forensics, and multi-jurisdictional conflicts.
Through decades of practice, I've come to recognize that disputes take many forms—some present straightforward legal conflicts, while others reflect complex business objectives beneath the surface. My approach to mediation and arbitration draws directly from my experience as an advocate in hundreds of proceedings.
What distinguishes my practice is a commitment to understanding the full context of each dispute. Beyond assessing written submissions to grasp the legal framework, I conduct pre-mediation conferences with each party and their counsel. These conversations often reveal underlying dynamics not apparent from formal pleadings and create space for participants to consider business solutions or creative paths to resolution before the initial mediation session.
This approach brings efficiency and creativity to the mediation process, helping all participants shift their focus forward—which is essential for resolving even the most entrenched conflicts.
